Author Topic: Some shaders not working in 2018.2.0  (Read 1455 times)

Some of the shaders in 2018.2.0 are showing black when material view is selected. You can still view the individual channels, but material mode is black.

These include:
clay
dota-2
lens-studio
non-pbr-spec-gloss
pbr-velvet
no error shows in the output log.



Plus, it seems that this SSS shader is missing?! At least i can't see or select anything like described in the 2018.2 update blog.


There is no specific SSS shader. The SSS has been built-in the default shaders. But we've been having reports of the SSS settings not showing up in the shader settings with older projects, we are looking into it.

Oh thanks! Yes, actually it's possible to select it on the templates while creating a new project.

Trying to load a couple of files made in the Spring 2018 version (2018.1.3) getting this sort of error:
[ResourceShader] pbr-metal-rough-with-alpha-blending:49 | 2(49) : error C1008: undefined variable "pbrComputeBRDF"
[ResourceShader] Last known valid shader is currently used. Please fix the project shader.

EDIT:  Had to change the shader to the same type, text when I opened up the shader panel said "(outdated)", reselected and it updated to current version. Error no longer appeared on load.
