Author Topic: Does painter bake normals at perfect 45 degree angle?(For use in trim textures)  (Read 225 times)

I am trying to replicate this: https://www.gdcvault.com/play/1022323/The-Ultimate-Trim-Texturing-Techniques

Basically I want to create a trim texture that I can then map any number of UVs to it to gain normal edge detail. The problem is, the hard 90 degree seam is always visible.

After reading this: https://polycount.com/discussion/160794/the-ultimate-trim-technique-from-sunset-overdrive -- I have come to the conclusion that my normals are not getting baked at perfect 45 angles. Am I right in thinking this?
