Hi
I noticed in your documentation on the font node it looks like you can expose the font

I cant see it on my version (2017.1.3) (see attachment) Am i doing something wrong?

It looks like the documentation is out of sync with the software.

ah ok, darn!
Any ideas what this little anchor thing is (see pic), I would expect text to pivot from this point and for it to relocate itself to the center after you have written text, like in Photoshop. Currently it doesn't seem to do anything so i'm finding scaling the text from the center a bit of a pain as the pivot isn't re-aligning itself, so my point of scaling is always changing (if that makes sense).

Interesting...

a) The "dot" is the center of rotation... if you rotate it by hand using the mouse.  When the cursor changes to a little "arc" it will rotate around that dot.

b) The "Rotation" parameter rotates the entire node, so that is a different behavior.

I don't see an immediate way to parameterize the rotation around the dot.

Appears to be an enhancement opportunity:
a) Expose the X-Y (horizontal/vertical) location of the dot (on a 0-to-1 scale)
b) Expose a "Text box rotation" value
c) I would like to suggest renaming the current rotation parameter to "Node rotation," however, it is best to leave that unchanged so existing text nodes are forward compatible.

Any ideas how i can get it to scale from a fixed point (like the center of the texture)
Then if i say change the text its still stays central

A few thoughts:

a) Move the text box the the center of the node
b) Move the "dot" to the center - actually that probably won't matter for the exposed "Rotation" parameter
c) Be sure you have the text "Alignment" set to "Centered" - you already did that, as shown in your screen shot


and finally... my actual recommendation:

d) Expose the X/Y (Horizontal/Vertial) position parameters.  That way if the user doesn't like how it moved after the rotation, he can reposition it.  Not elegant, but effective and it gives the user maximum control
e) I recommend also exposing the Font SIZE parameter
