Several materials on my model are showing up just fine, but one of them produces an error notice of “could not locate material, creating new one”. Predictably, none of the layers/adjustments are showing up on that portion of the mesh when I preview it in iRay. Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

This means you changed the name of one of the materials on your mesh, you can go to the Texture Set List window, in Settings, find the Reassign Texture Set option and relink your material with its stack.
