Author Topic: "Advanced Search" for the forum  (Read 528 times)

Is there any sort of "Advanced Search" available for searching the forum?
If so, where is it hidden?

It would be great to be able to restrict (filter) our searches in several ways:
> Forum sections/subsection - Examples:  "Painter" or "Painter - Discussion" or "Substance Designer - Showcase"
> Username
> Date range - Example:  In the last week
> Body of text vs. Subject line

I'm not a real fan on the interface and layout, but here is an example of the Advanced Search from a different user forum:

The feature is there, although we would indeed need to expose it in a better way:
- make a search
- click on "search" in the breadcrumb at the top Forum/search/search results

You will then see an option "advanced search". Here is the direct link:

James Baxter!

Thank you both.

I thought I could vaguely remember seeing it once upon a time, but I looked and looked and didn't see it anywhere.  Using the "bread crumb" to get back to the advanced search (which you didn't use) is not intuitive at all.

Admittedly in hind sight, I should have searched better before posting about the search feature.   :-[

It would be appreciated if an "Advanced search" or "Refine your search" button was at the top of the search results page.
