Author Topic: All Metallic/Reflective Materials show up solid black in the viewport  (Read 1465 times)

Hi, I am quite new to Substance Painter, I'm using it currently for a college project. I modelled a wall in C4D, and I colour coded the different parts that I wanted to be textured differently, however whenever I import the .obj from Cinema4D and apply a metallic texture to one of the assets, the asset turns solid black. I have removed the metallic attribute from the texture and it fixes, however I need that attribute. Anyone know of a fix?

Could you show us a screen shot of your project, especially showing the texture layers?

You can drag-and-drop the picture into your post (doesn't work with Internet Explorer for me), or use the "Attachments and other options" thingy below where you type in your posts.  (You can click on it, even though it doesn't look like it.)

Hey, what type of shader is applied to your asset?

I think just the default shaded is applied, however I’m not too sure as I’m extremely new at the software

Do you mind sharing your spp?

It is not letting me upload the file, I'm not sure my college wifi is allowing me to upload it.
