Can i use grayscale for metallic ?

People said metallic value should be 1 or 0 for realistic material.

The "artistic" answer is, "Yes."

For a raw material, the answer is 99.9% "No," but there are a few times to deviate from that binary answer:
a) For artistic purposes, do whatever achieves the look you desire.
b) For thin overlays, such as a light layer of dust, a "gray" value for Metallic might be very sensible.
c) Some rare material exceptions do exist, but I can't remember what they are right now.

Good luck, and have fun.
