Author Topic: Diffuse/Specular/Glossiness Converter  (Read 2927 times)

This utility converts Diffuse/Specular/Glossiness maps to BaseColor/Metallic/Roughness maps.

It uses the "Color to Mask" node to extract the metallic map. The Keying Type is important to set correctly.
Try each one while viewing the metallic output in the 2D View to see what produces the best results.
Use Mask Range and Mask Softness to refine the map.

You can adjust the metal reflectance values using Levels.

It includes a "Limiter" that limits the darkest values to sRGB 30-50 and the lightest values to sRGB 240.
It is a separate .sbs, so it needs to be in the same directory as the converter.

If you want to use them in the Library, place them in the "packages" folder in the Designer installation directory.
The Converter will appear in "Material Filters > PBR Utilities" and the Limiter will appear in "Filters > Adjustments".
