Author Topic: FBX bakes normal with artifacts, OBJ works  (Read 917 times)


I have UV mapped my object in 3D Coat. From there I export an FBX for Substance Painter. Then I bake a normal map from that FBX and a high poly FBX. This gives me weird artifacts from the baking process:

If I instead export an OBJ out of 3D Coat and bake that with the high poly FBX everything looks correct:

For my workflow I would like to use FBX, does somebody know what is going on here? Thanks for any help.
