Author Topic: Help for multipletextureset  (Read 2062 times)

It been a couple of months that I got substance painter and recently I am working on a personal project with multiple mesh.

Before exporting all the mesh in one file I give each of them a different ID but when I open it in substance painter I only get

one texture set with the name 1001 and I don't know what to do to correct this and have multiple set.

Substance Painter texture sets get their name from the materials applied to the mesh in the 3D application - not from the mesh names. If you want multiple texture sets then, in your 3D application, assign different materials to the individual meshes. Name the materials if you want more descriptive texture set names in SP.

Hope this helps a bit.

thanks for the help but this is what I was doing I did give each of them a different material ID but I still get one texture set

a) What 3D modeling application are you using?

b) Are you using UDIMS by any chance?
"1001" sounds like a typical UDIM tile name.
If so, checking "Create a texture set per UDIM tile" on the New Project panel might be the solution.

Now naming the material is different than choosing an ID in the UVW map. Just to be sure check screenshots attached to see where to name the materials in both slate and compact material editors.

Thanks for the help but I was doing this for each material so I don't really know what is going on.

Did you export in FBX format? Try OBJ.

It is not working for both format.

I finally found the problem with substance painter!!!!!! It was because I didn't disable //create a texture per UDIM tile\\. I feel

so stupid not noticing this. Thanks for everyone that help me.
