I was thinking about purchasing a Designer license to use Substance with Houdini, but my first tests with the trial are showing me a potential deal-breaker, I think I misunderstood how the plugin works at a first sight.
It seems the plugin just exports/bakes textures (in some way) before rendering and uses them to create a material, losing all the procedural spirit of substance/houdini, is that true? One of my goals was to apply materials to large very hi-res surfaces generating results without repetition, just like you can do creating a shader in Mantra, in a completely procedural way. Is this planned?
