This is indeed odd and an issue we have not seen while testing. Based on the pathing, It looks like you are using a material instance that references a Substance/Substance output within an effect/particle system? Is this correct? Can you provide more information on the context in which this Substance is being used so that we can reproduce this issue?

This happens when the generation mode is set to SGM_Baked as well. I'm trying to isolate the issue but im not having much luck.
