Author Topic: Substance Learnings  (Read 3888 times)

Finally taking time to brush up on some Designer stuff, been so much great art out there since I started using the software, totally feel behind.

Got inspired by the masterclasses I had a chance to attend this summer.  I'll be posting some WIP mats here.

So far just learning to build shapes using normal/height only

Still learning!! Having lots of fun, just experimenting how to layer up stuff.

Hi - Thank you for sharing your works.  Great stuff.

I really like that second material in your first post.  It is a really ugly-looking substance, and I mean that in the best possible way.  I can imagine it being full of all sorts of nasty, icky stuff you wouldn't want to have to walk through.  It's the sort of stuff you find, shortly before the evil slimy alien gets you.

That new one you shared in your second post is really great, too.

Hey! thanks for the comments, now that I look at it it does kind of look like some alien planet thingy

I'll keep working on these little experiments, I think i'll try and incorporate a zbrush workflow into substance and see what comes out of it

Finally finished a material lol

Nice work

Wow!!!

Started this one off with a zbrush pass to test out the workflow

I started adding Zbrush with Substance and Modo.. and wow, makes a difference..   Looking good, I also make a lot of stuff with just normal and height to play around with different shapes.  Good way to learn new shapes, techniques.
