Author Topic: Substance Source Displacement  (Read 1128 times)

Hi.  I've been examining the beautiful materials on Substance Source and notice that some of the materials have such effective displacement/height that it appears that there is real geometry doing the displacing (see attached screen captures).  I'd like to get displacements of this caliber in Redshift, but can't seem to get the same results.  Can anybody tell me how to get amazing displacements like in the attached examples using Redshift for Cinema 4D?  Thanks for your help!

I haven't used redshift, but what you're looking for is called tessellation.
Unlike 'fake' offset methods like parallax occlusion, it does in fact change your geometry based on a heightmap.

Thanks so much for your reply, Eggfruit.
