Author Topic: Painting on 2D view x 3D view  (Read 2456 times)

Hi, I'm new to painting tools, so excuse me if I'm making any mistake.

I was painting the back side of armor in the 2D view and noticed in the 3D view that the brush was applied to another portion of the texture - like I had painted that area in the 3D view.
Is that a right behaviour, because if I was painting the texture in the conventional way - because the UVmaps would not be overlapped - that couldn't happen.

The red circle it's were I applied the brush and the yellow circle was the texture portion that received the brush without my action:

Thanks in advanced

This is because that part circled in yellow is just on top of the red part if you look at the mesh, so the projection goes through that circular piece and is also applied on the face just behind it, which will be hidden on the mesh in the end.

You can avoid this by switching your brush setting to UV alignment instead of Tangent.

Thanks Jeremie and sorry about the long time to replay.
With this information I found a post saying where to change this behaviour (I didn't noticed it before).
