Author Topic: Substance Painter crashes immediately when I open a sample file  (Read 1612 times)

Hi,

I have downloaded Substance Painter and I would like to evaluate it, but it crashes immediately when I open a sample file or when I click on "start painting".

Unfortunately the Quadro card in your workstation is way below our minimum specs for Substance Painter.
The minimum supported Qaudro hardware is the Quadro K2000.

Thank you very much Jeremie. Could you suggest me a good alternative card? The minimum choice is the quadro k2000. A medium choice and a optimum choice?

I'm not sure what Apple offers but I would make sure to only upgrade to a GPU that Apple supports officially (as in shipped with some of their workstations) since we don't support non-Apple drivers on MacOs for Painter.

I could buy a Nvidia GPU for mac. The drivers are always supported by Nvidia. In my system preferences, on my mac,  I have a NVIDIA driver manager and I download all the drivers without any problem. In a few word, by my personal experience, if you have a Mac, and you have the money and the slot space for a big Nvidia GPU for mac, you can mount and use it without any problem since the drivers are provided by Nvidia.
