Author Topic: Concentric circles going down in size  (Read 4341 times)

Hi all,

I'm working on some cymbals and I'm looking for an easier way to do concentric circles going down in size that I can use for bump and roughness for a lathing effect. I can't find any procedural textures  that will do this for me.

I can do this in Photoshop but it's cumbersome and time consuming.

Cheers!

Hey, something like this?:

exactly like that!! Thanks!

Is it possible to vary the thickness of the lines?

Thanks again.

Try playing with the shape - using something with more of a falloff will make the stripes vary in thickness.

Thanks!

Adding a curve node just after the shape node will give you more control (be sure to set your graph to 16 bits for a better quality)

Thanks again!

Dunno if you still need to be able to make concentric circles, but I built a custom node that will allow you to build concentric circles + polygons. Feel free to download it if you still need it: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/X6x8L
