Author Topic: normals for unreal but previewed in maya arnold  (Read 1572 times)


I'm working on assets that should end up in unreal but I need render turntables in maya arnold (for pipeline reasons).  My normal ouput setting in Painter is set to Normal DirectX (RGB).

What settings should I have in Maya arnold to get the right setup for the normals? Do I only invert the Y channel? I'm confused by my tests...


Maya use OpenGL normal map. You can use one of the default export presets if you are not sure which map you need to export. You can check our documentation for some setup guides as well.
Don't forget your log file. It can be exported from the Help menu of the software.
