trying to connect an alpha output to Tile Random generator, but it's not working

I'm following a tutorial by allegorithmic on creating brick material


Im trying to get this shape to appear in the tile  generator. But it isn't showing


Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, the support sub-forum wanted me to attach some log file to be able to post

Solved, I needed to go under 'pattern' in the tile generator then select 'pattern input'
