Author Topic: Offsetting an image by another image  (Read 894 times)

Here's what I need: a transform node that offsets an image by a greyscale input. Let's say, black areas cause 0 offset, white areas 0.5, grayscale in between. I'm sure it can be done but I have no idea how.

My first approach was to create a function for the Transform 2D node's Offset parameter that is driven by a grayscale input. Which doesn't seem to be possible (what's the Sample Gray node good for, then?  ;)), unfortunately. Any other ideas?

I think the Directional Warp node does what you describe. If you set the Intensity to 256, then a white input image offsets exactly the width of the image.

Or if you want to use a single grayscale input value (like a slider) then you could use a 2D Transfor node and a function.

Indeed it does, thanks for the hint! :)
