Hi guys,

Somewhat a beginner with SD. Used it off and on for a couple years now.

I am trying to achieve a grunge look procedurally and was wondering if anyone had some advice on what they might do or suggest for me to try to achieve a look similar to this.

My way of doing it is by making patterns flow towards a certain direction like from top towards bottom in this case.
So I would choose a noise map and use directional warp or directional blur to stratch the pattern vertically. Then I would use a mask to mask out concave area. This should give you a good starting point to form a base to add more details.

Thanks for the reply. I certainly have been trying the directional's with noises. I just cant seem to get that effect there. =(

I guess I can keep trying with some other stuff hehe.

Well. I think I got it for the most part. This has mostly been a learning experience. If anyone has any comments or suggestions please feel free.
