Author Topic: Minimizing UE4 project Substance assset sizes  (Read 1109 times)


I started using Substances for UE4. One annoyance I noticed is that the .uasset files for created instances/textures can be quite large. I would not like to commit 2-20MB files to versioning system because this data should be possible to be generated from the .sbsar again if necessary.

I'm I missing something how Substances should be setup in UE4?
If there is currently no way to accomplish this, is there any plans to support this? Some Substance specific caching, or the UE4's DerivedDataCache?
