Author Topic: seam problem  (Read 3232 times)

I opened some topic about seam problem but ı still can not figure out seam problems.I use last version of substance painter:(attached screenshot)
I used clone tool but the seam is still appearing.
ı use uv projection because triplanar projection can not give me the result that ı want
ı also believe to set smoothing group correctly.
Please help me.Thanks for your answers.

This is a common problem with UV maps. You need to edit the UV maps within your 3D modeler program (such as Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, etc....). Lookup 'UV seams' on google for your 3D modeler.

thanks for your response.
As you can see main topic is seam problem. In screenshoot it is obvious.I couldnt develop any solution for seam problems like this in earlier version and ı wonder that is there any good solution for solving seam problem in newer version?
In short, ı search to solve seam problem for texturing in substance painter

You say that the clone too doesn't work but can you show its result ?
Did you also tried the projection tool ? see : https://support.allegorithmic.com/documentation/display/SPDOC/Projection

Hi,

Does the mesh have a hard edge in this location? Can you share the project?

On you first image the source of the clone tool is on the same edge as the one you are painting, therefore it will copy the seam, not hide. Also it seems you didn't enabled the pass-through blending mode mode on all the channels of the layer. See : https://support.allegorithmic.com/documentation/display/SPDOC/Blending+modes

On your second gif, what is happening is that the height that you are painting with the projection tool is combined with the height below, it doesn't replace it by default. You will have to change the blending mode of the height channel of your current layer to "normal" instead of "linear dodge" (see my link above).

thanks for your response. In addition,if you have time, please make a tutorial video for skin painting on your blog.Workflow looks really good but it looks a bit complicated to me as amateur on text format.
