Author Topic: Exporting mask not working as expected  (Read 1484 times)

Hi everybody.

I made a mask on substance painter, it looks like this

But when I export the mask by clicking on it and exporting the result is this one:

I was expecting the exact same mask I highlighted in red in the first image, with the black background and the two shades of grey on the uv shells. That is the actual mask, not the result i'm having. The result isn't useful at all.

What am i doing wrong? or that is the way it works?

What you get here is your mask plus the padding.
(See : )
Don't forget your log file. It can be exported from the Help menu of the software.

Yeah, i guessed was that when i first saw it, but that doesn't make much sense for a mask i think.

Anyway, there is a substance on Substance Share that exports masks the way i need them, but I have to update to Painter 2.1 first to test it. It would be great to have that feature by default in the package, The mask shouldn't have padding, that is counterintuitive.

If you have any other remark about it im open to hear.
