Author Topic: Surface baking - what normal format?  (Read 1295 times)

What does SD expect for normal maps supplied to the Scene Info Baker? You can choose OpenGL or DirectX format, but all of the normals maps I've supplied have seems. What software output the normal maps that you tested with?

BTW, I'm using SD2.5.

We have used SD in production with normal maps baked from various softwares such as ZBrush, xNormal, Mudbox, Maya and 3dsmax.
Can you post some images and more details (software used for baking, etc...)so we can help you?

Hard to say what's the problem without seeing some pics - normal map, UVs, model with wireframe etc. like Raouf said.
