Author Topic: Mask and overlay solid cut without blending  (Read 902 times)

Hi I'm struggling to work out how to take a greyscale mask I've created and then use it to blend 2 outputs. I wish the blend to be completely solid like pasting an image on top . What node is best for this? Maybe I need to make my mask  solid white or black sort of thing. Any tips would be great, it's alluding me.

Also I've noticed the blend node has a alpha input rather than a mask input, is this different from a mask input? My masks seem to have no effect, what is it for?

Thanks.  ;)

Oh I answered my own question really, it was making the mask solid was required. What I had missed was the 3 littler arrows at the top of the levels node graph to harden the mask. move the center arrow close the left or right arrow and then move the arrow you choose to a position that defines your solid area of the mask you like/need.   8)

My question still stands with this:

"Also I've noticed the blend node has a alpha input rather than a mask input, is this different from a mask input? My masks seem to have no effect, what is it for?"
